In other words, Why Mobile Learning?

The use of mobile applications in web-based environments is increasing. The habit of using mobile devices such as mobile phones, tablets and laptops continues to grow. Mobile users generally prefer mobile devices over desktop computers when researching anything they are curious about or want to learn, learning a subject, shopping online, accessing social media applications, or connecting to a web address. The practicality of mobile devices and their ease of use with technologically supported applications affect user preferences. Therefore, as mobile devices are used, basic needs, including trade, education and transportation, are met through these devices and most of the work is done remotely. In addition, mobile users communicate through YouTube, Instagram, Facetime, TikTok, Twitter and WhatsApp applications in order to socialize outside of their way of doing business, and they also develop their habits of using video conferencing while trying to connect with each other via live cameras. Approximately 20 years ago, when 3G technology started to increase the access speed of the internet, it was perhaps not possible to predict that user habits related to human mobility would increase so much. It is evaluated that the communication speed effect will continue to increase with 6G technology, which has recently started with 5G and will be included in the system in the future.

The world population is approximately 8 Billion. However, mobile devices in use have reached 10 Billion connections and the number of mobile users is growing day by day. Therefore, it is thought that mobile transactions may grow even more and affect our lives. The phenomenon of mobile learning, which has become especially effective in learning processes, is developing with mobile devices and appropriate applications. Many web-based learning management systems have begun to be used for instructional designs and video conferences in distance education methods that have begun to be used for the development of learners in the business and education world. They have become supporting elements of educational processes in the business and education worlds. Nowadays, users focus more on connections via video conferencing and the use of applications on mobile devices.

When these findings are evaluated, the impact of the use of online learning system infrastructures and video conferencing technology in business and education processes is increasing in every field, depending on technological developments. It is considered the most effective infrastructure of learning methods. In addition, these technologies seem to have a structure that supports traditional and distance learning methods.

Today, as mobility increases, with the practicality of mobile learning and the acceleration of internet access, accessibility from one place to another, regardless of location, has increased and borders have been removed. With the economical opportunities provided by mobile devices and video conferencing applications in people's hands, communication and interaction can be carried out more effectively without any time/space barrier.

While the user potential is increasing in the world and in Turkey, there is a huge business and education group that can do their job and work via video conferencing. It is thought that with the support of video conferencing technology and online learning applications, learner potential will increase and change the way of doing business. Technologically supported learning tools that include video conferencing infrastructures have been and will continue to be one of the most used, learner-centered, interactive learning tools. Online learning environments and video conferencing applications, which also provide the opportunity for the learner to transform into the role of teacher, provide great technological opportunities, while training with the right content, meetings and seminars pave the way for simultaneous/instant interactive learning. Connectivity, the learning theory of the digital age, positively affects the learning process over the internet. With such applications, it seems possible to increase learners' commitment to learning and create their own learning environments according to their needs. It is predicted that increasing the intensity of training, academic studies and learner-centered applications in the business world, especially by using these technologies, can increase interaction at the global level. Mobile learning with mobile devices may soon take the first place.

When we look at the figures regarding mobile device usage in the world, statistics point to the development area of mobile learning. Video conferencing tools and educational and entertaining game-based mobile learning applications available in application stores (AppStore) are made suitable for the interaction of learners. In the near future, mobile learning, which includes distance education and video conferencing technologies as alternatives to traditional learning, may gain even more importance.
